The Good News

Growing up in Urbana was rewarding in many ways, but there was a message to kids in school that concerned Justin. He was told that if you wanted the best shot at a good life you should leave Urbana. This message came from teachers, parents, and peers.

The problem is, there was truth in that message. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, as of 2017 Urbana has the worst poverty rate and median household income of 9 of our neighboring communities.

The good news is, there is hope. Our numerous supporters, the thousands of doors we've knocked, and the great people that have come to our town halls are all evidence that the citizens of Urbana are ready for a new generation of leadership.
